The sire of Woodman van het Merrethof is the 8-year-old, very promising and interestingly bred BWP Young Stallion Award winner Ermitage Kalone. Under the saddle of Gilles Thomas, Ermitage Kalone jumps carefully, with great regularity and almost always clear. Despite his young age, he already produced his business card several times. For example, last year his daughter Valkyrie JM became champion at the BWP national elite foal championship and his son Sunday JM was honoured as 1st reserve champion at the BWP stallion selection.
Through his dam, Woodman belongs to the BWP lineage 103. His granddam, Seurika van ’t Voorhof, is the dam of the BWP elite stallion / successful 5* GP stallion Inonstop van ’t Voorhof, with whom Arthur Gustavo da Silva collected top ten places for years, during World Cup classes, Grands Prix and Nations Cups. Seurika is also the granddam of Kashmir van d’Oude Pastory (this year for instance 2nd in the 4* Vejer de la Frontera GP and 2nd in the 3* Knokke GP) and Olympic van het Merrethof (4*, Jens Nijs).
