PEDIGREE HIGHLIGHTS
Winefolly-K van Kattenheye’s sire, Kasanova de la Pomme, was honoured in 2013 as champion of the BWP stallion selection and later crowned as BWP elite stallion. The 12-year-old Kasanova has already completed a successful course in the international showjumping scene. Last year he won the 4* GP in Valence and this year he ranked for instance 7th in the GP in Sankt-Gallen (5*, 1m60) and 8th in the Saint-Tropez GP (5*, 1m60). Meanwhile, several of his descendants from his first vintage (2014) are already performing at 1m40 to 1m45 level.
Through her dam, Merlot di Fer, Winefolly-K is part of the world famous and highly coveted BWP line 34, the Qerly Chin line. Ermita di Fer, Merlot’s dam, produced Meursault di Fer (performs at 1m45 level in the United States), Izadi di Fer (with whom Valerie Blommaert jumped clear this year in almost all competitions in which she participated in Oliva) and Ortega di Fer (3*, 1m40 level). Ermita’s dam is none other than Ferly de Muze (alias Sea Coast Ferly), who performed outstanding in the five-star circuit, in partnership with Gudrun Patteet. Ferly in turn is the dam of Brunello di Fer, amongst others, with whom Hanne Mertens was successful at 1m50 level.
Winefolly-K van Kattenheye is a good, strong type, standing over a lot of ground and has correct conformation of the legs and good joints. The trot is sufficient. She has a strong canter with a lot of impulsion and she can easily change.
