Willem van de Groendreef’s sire, Karan Van De Heffinck, was approved as a breeding stallion by BWP. This 5-year-old son of Kannan out of a Baloubet du Rouet daughter has a lot of blood and willingness to work and is pleasant to ride, qualities that are very important in showjumping today. He jumps light-footed from the ground and shows a lot of scope. Jorik Vervoort successfully released the stallion this year in several heats of the stallion competition.
Marie van de Ponteput signed for Willem’s motherhood. She is by Breemeersen Crescendo, a stallion who has performed up to five-star level, including a 5th place in the 5* Derby of Lummen. Willem is part of the Dutch breeding family 1966 through his dam.
Willem van de Groendreef is a long-lined, long-legged type, with a spacious and good carried trot and canter.
