PEDIGREE HIGHLIGHTS

How often do you get the chance to buy a son of BWP ambassador Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve out of the lineage of the showjumping phenomenon For Joy van ’t Zorgvliet? Extremely rarely. The organizers of the BWP Top Stallion Auction make this possible. Do we still need to introduce Tangelo? “Tangelo was a very good horse. He had a super showjumping technique. He could jump extremely and had a super attitude. His descendants usually also have a very good attitude.”, says Roelof Bril, who has ridden Tangelo up to and including international Grand Prix 1m60 level. Tangelo passes on hardness, scope, a lot of quality in the legs and a good character. Moreover, his offspring is easy to ride. Tangelo produced many showjumpers performing at the very highest level, such as Scuderia 1918 Tobago, Darry Lou and Hermelien van de Hooghoeve. Who knows, Umber van ‘t Zorgvliet will also be on this list in nine- or ten-years’ time.

Umber unites no less than three BWP ambassadors in a row in his pedigree: Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Thunder van de Zuuthoeve, or translated into the WBFSH sire ranking: 35th, 12th and 28th place. Umber’s granddam, Kalinka van ’t Zorgvliet, won several five-star 1m60 classes under the saddle of Karl Cook in 2022, including the Bridgehampton GP. Kalinka’s dam, Goldfee van ’t Zorgvliet, has collected numerous top ten places in the international two-star circuit. Goldfee is a half-sister to the legendary showjumper For Joy van ’t Zorgvliet with whom Kevin Staut achieved countless successes at the highest level. Good blood never lies, that’s what this BWP dam line 81 guarantees.
