How often does one get the opportunity to purchase a national BRp champion foal? Seldom. The BWP Online Foal Auction makes this possible by including Elpenor Van Den Kievit in the collection. During the national BRp foal championship Elpenor claimed the victory. The ‘report under the saddle - Nabor Cup 2022’ from his sire Wacko Van Het Jachthof states, amongst other things: ‘Wacko has a riding type and has a lot of stallion appearance. He shows a lot of commitment and enthusiasm for moving. He has an excellent movement mechanism with a lot of uprightness.’ Further on in that report, the space in his movements, his powerful impulsion on the jump, his good foreleg and hindlegtechnique and use of his shoulder are also praised.
Through his dam Que Sera van het Klavertje, Elpenor Van Den Kievit is a half-brother to Vergilius van den Kievit, who won the national BRp championship and the Antwerp foal championship in 2017 (series BRp colts, large size) and later became an approved BRp stallion. Que Sera jumped in LRV competitions (D-L 1m), achieved the conformation label and produced the elite foals Vergilius, Waar is Wally, Artemis, Damocles and Elpenor Van Den Kievit. Que Sera’s dam has the conformation and performance label and jumped in national and LRV competitions. Que Sera’s granddam is the elite mare Farnes van de Groenheuvel, in turn the dam of Kadans van de Groenheuvel (approved stallion plus international showjumper, Thibeau Spits).
Elpenor Van Den Kievit is a long-legged foal with a spacious trot and a good walk and canter.
