Athina’s sire, Sammy Boy van ‘t Langeriethof carries top performance blood. It starts with his sire, Stolzenberg. This son by the top progenitor Stakkato was awarded in Hanover as ‘Hengst des Jahres 2019’. Under the saddle of Joachim Winter, Stolzenberg collected more than 80 victories, from class A to S. Stolzenberg became a supplier of excellent showjumpers. Sammy Boy van ’t Langeriethof is a very modern stallion, standing over a lot of ground. He has a lot of expression and a golden character. On the fences he shows a super foreleg technique, scope, a good mentality and a lot of prudence. Last year he recorded two clear rounds out of three participations in the stallion competition, in partnership with Dries Goossens. Also this year he underlined his showjumping qualities, not only during the stallion competition, but also during the cycle (so far 4 clear rounds in 4 participations, it couldn’t be better!).
Through her dam, Indy van Dorperheide, Athina inherited the performance blood of one of the best progenitors in the world, Diamant de Semilly. Indy’s dam, Camila de Wulf Selection, is the dam of the international showjumpers Mr-Ottorongo van Dorperheide and Jade van Dorperheide, as well as the granddam of Make My Day van Dorperheide, who performs in Italy. Camila’s dam, Hedje, is the icing on the cake. After all, she was responsible for the motherhood of Otterongo V/D Kopshoeven, the Darco son with whom Ludo Philippaerts wrote history (including 4th individual at the Olympic Games in Sydney, 2nd at the European Championship in Arnhem, 10th in the GP of Aachen, 4th (in 2000) and 5th (in 2001) in the World Cup class in Mechelen and multiple GP winner). Hedje also produced Dream d’Hedge Wulf Selection (1m60 level) and Otterongo Alpha Z (the clone of Otterongo with whom Christian Ahlmann performs at 5* level).
