Anyone who buys Ares Van Het Strateneinde is buying a champion. Ares demonstrated his qualities during the Antwerp Foal Championship where he received the highest score in the series of older male showjumping foals. The sire of this colt is Don VHP, ex-Don van het Parelshof, who won the GP of Hamburg and Rome, as well as several 1m60 GCT showjumping classes (including in Rome and Paris) and gold in the final of the Nations Cup in Barcelona, in partnership with Harrie Smolders. A few more achievements: with the team 5th at the WEG in Tryon and individually silver at the EC in Gothenburg. Don is a stallion with a lot of charisma, scope and a strong character. He produces long-legged foals with a lot of character. Several of his descendants perform in the 1m50 to 1m60 circuit.
Through his dam, Ares is a half-brother to the international 3* eventer Isolde Van Het Strateneinde. His granddam, Jentl, is a half-sister to Si Petite V/H Strateneinde who in turn produced no fewer than three three-star international eventers, namely Camelot, Hermes and Inch van het Strateneinde. The international showjumpers Kalina, Rhuppert D’Halong and Irokko van de Noordheuvel also belong to this dam line.
Ares Van Het Strateneinde has a good rectangular model. He is long-lined, has a good top line and a carrying and spacious canter, with a lot impulsion.
