PEDIGREE HIGHLIGHTS
Alfa van de Haarter Hoeve unites in his pedigree four stallions in a row who have jumped at the highest level: Diamant de Semilly x Casall x Darco x Quintero. This foursome is also in the top 50 of the WBFSH sire ranking. Should we introduce Alfa’s sire, Diamant de Semilly? Eric Levallois experienced numerous highlights with Diamant, such as team gold and individual 9th at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera (2002) and team silver at the European Championship in Donaueschingen (2003). Diamant passes on scope, suppleness, a strong back, a good canter and a strong character. His successful offspring in the international showjumping scene earned him 2nd place in the WBFSH ranking of the best showjumping suppliers in the world.
Alfa has also been bred very interestingly on the dam’s side. His dam, Troy van de Haarter Hoeve, is a four-year-old daughter of Casall, the Olympic stallion who, from 2008 to 2017, achieved countless victories and places of honour in the toughest 5* competitions and still won 5* classes when he was 18. Troy is a half-sister to Othello van de Haarterhoeve, who last year placed 7th in the final ranking of the national championship for 8-years-old. Donna van Overis, the dam of Troy and Othello, is by BWP ambassador Darco. As a young horse, Donna often jumped into the spotlight. Her honours list includes 18th place in the final for 5-year-old showjumpers. Donna’s dam, Quintera, is by Quintero, a Quantum son with whom Rolf-Göran Bengtsson collected an impressive list of top 10 places in 5* Grands Prix, World Cup classes and Nations Cups. Alfa is a typical BWP product: a mix of the best performance blood from our neighbouring countries, born to perform in the international showjumping circuit in seven- or eight-years’ time and with the potential to be approved as a breeding stallion.
